While checking various info relating to our upcoming trip to India, I came across the FCO LOCATE service mentioned on their website. Never heard of it before. LINK

Its been up and running for a few months now. I guess its a way of replacing the conventional practice of ringing up the local embassy when you arrive in certain countries.
In light of recent events, such as Mumbai and the Bangkok siege, I guess it could/will be a valuable tool for the FCO - assuming that all the embassies can access it and use it!
