If I buy a ticket on a LCC and check-in online but don't actually show up at the airport to fly, does the airline still have to pay the Govt tax and airport fees ?
I suspect that taxes and fees are calculated from the passenger count prior to departure, but thought somewhere could confirm. I'm booked on Ryanair but can't make the flight - I just loathe the idea of MOL getting my money for free !

Hi, this is often asked, others can give you pointers to the relevant thread, here's the quick answer:
MOL and other ask for a "processing fee" that is higher than the tax they should refund, so you always end with nothing. Apparently, that is legal.
