OTP closed due to ongoing fire at terminal

Local media in Bucharest are now reporting a fire at the Departures terminal of Bucharest's Henri Coanda Airport. The police and firefighters are currently evacuating both Departures and Arrivals terminals, which are rather close. The media reports that all air traffic has been suspended. More news to come....

Yes, it's too small and needs replacing. But It's a lovely piece of 1920s airport architecture that deserves preservation when that happens. Hopefully it hasn't been damaged too badly.

you make a confusion....1920..... is baneasa LRBS/BSA, the fire was in the LROP/OTP, now named HENRI COANDA, but however, problems will be in the next month, 'cause all traffic from baneasa will be moved on otopeni for a while.....

You are mistaking OTP for Baneasa Airport which is indeed a beautifull 1920's piece of Architecture, in fact the original beacon is still there too! That could be the Tempelhof of the east, which most certainly needs to be kept!

OTP (Henri Coanda is 5 kms north of Baneasa and is a boring piece of Architecture....

Sorry Airman, you beat me to it!

Last year Banesa was closed also due to runway resurfacing OTP was hell then!
