Power Supply Emirates 772

Emirates website says....

With laptop charging, SMS, phone and email from your seat on all aircraft, and wi-fi on some aircraft, you won’t have to miss out on a second of work.
The last 3 times I have travelled in J on the EK 772, and plugged in a laptop PC, the power supply worked for about 2-3 minutes and then tripped off.

Resetting the seat resulted in the same outcome, so I am beginning to wonder of the EK power supply is not really suitable for a laptop.

Laptop in question is a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S6410 and the EK power supply is via a Europlug/US socket and is 110v DC.

Any one else had a similar experience?

Think you'll find a lot of these power outlets will run a laptop but not charge the battery at the same time, so next time remove battery , then plug in and start up.

Nope, made no difference either way - EK on board engineer suggested that.
