VS40 delay in Chicago
Anyone know the reason behind the delay in this flight?
My 78 year-old mother was due to catch it on her first holiday abroad on her own last night. She is in bits because she thought she was stuck over there!
She was put up in the local hotel, but she won't sleep now!

Thanks Vaffpax!
The reason I posted on this forum was that Virgin didn't know anything. At one point they advised me the flight had landed an hour early until I pointed out the date to them and that it hadn't left ORD. As a passenger requesting special assistance
It a shame that my mum's first experience of flying has turned out to be a bit of a drama for her!

pbrookes, I've asked elsewhere to find out what happened to VS40.
Edit: According to a pax on the inbound VS39, it was a very hard landing. Apparently the a/c was still being worked on at 7pm on departure of this specific person to another destination, so it was likely to have been a technical reason for the delay. The a/c was apparently G-VHOL (Jetstreamer).
I hope that answers your question :-)
