Virgin Atlantic, Seating Plans And Aircraft

Hi,

Not sure if this is the place for this question but I will ask it here and see what reply I get.

I am travelling from Manchester in February to Orlando with Virgin and would like to know if anyone knows what aircraft I am likely to be on? Is there a specific one that does the MAN -MCO route? I am led to believe that it is a 747???

Has the new premium ecconomy seating been rolled out on the entire 747 fleet?

Many thanks

It will be a B744 but highly unlikely to have the new Premium seat as the aircraft coming in to cover the refits for the LGW/MAN fleet isn't due until March if I remember correctly.

thats pants!!!!

Quick question.

From what I know there is one flight that flys into MCO from MAN but coming back there are 2 flights from MCO to MAN.

Does anyone know were this 'spare' flight originates? How can only one plane go out but two come back?

All info please

There is one MAN-MCO-MAN flight on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs & Sun.

There are two MAN-MCO-MAN flights on Frid & Sat.

It's not a spare flight.

There are no B747s based at MAN. The aircraft which operate out of MAN are LGW based and rotate through MAN in a seemingly random pattern.

The Premium Economy seats on the the LGW/MAN 747s are fine. They aren't leather but they are comfy.

The only issue I imagine you may encounter is the lower standard of IFE on the LGW/MAN fleet than the LHR fleet.

The older PE seats are just fine. yes the new ones are great but the old are really OK.

The older IFE tends to be more reliable. These fancy AVOD systems are prone to going wrong.

That all depends on which a/c you get.

The 5 Alitalia built a/c (Ros/Gal/Lip/Rom/Roy) do have very poor IFE (Nova), but the EX-LHR a/c (Top/Ast/Xlg) have the Matsu!!!!a 2000 system (known by VS as Odyssey) which is the next best IFE after the Matsu!!!!a 3000 AVOD system (known by VS as V:PORT) and has games and numerous tv/film/audio channels although it is tape based not AVOD, but it is still a pretty good system.

Cool

Very rarely on time, since they chose to permanently park a/c on remote stands (VS75/76). Having to bus 450 pax off takes time and of course so does having to bus 450 back on again. Inbetween that the a/c has to be turned around. cleaned, catered, fuelled etc.

The 2nd flt on days 5 and 6 may go on a stand or may not depends if there is one free.
