Good job.

I'd like to commend a Captain on his captaincy.

I guess it's not quite the done thing to mention the chap by name, so I'll just say we were on a lo-co flight out of Spain heading for a fog-bound Gatwick just before Christmas. Obviously there was a long wait for a landing slot, so the Captain came into the terminal to do a PA. It wasn't very audible, not his fault I would guess, but I caught the bit about grabbing some food and drink while we could. When we boarded he came into the cabin to give another. He apologised for some of us not being able to hear him earlier, and explained that we were sitting there for a couple of hours before departure in case an earlier slot came up. Also suggested that any business passengers were welcome to deplane, and so on.
The crucial thing is that he came and talked to us face-to-face. It makes all the difference in keeping the SLF happy and so making the cabin crew's job easier.
Good job.
