It is my understanding that Delta economy seat pitch is 31 inches, and first-class seat pitch is 37 to 38 inches.

Don't know about IFE. I find US carriers generally lacking in that regard compared with non-US carriers.

Last Delta flight I had (MEX-JFK) was short but good. These should help:

Have regularly flown Delta EDI - ATL on 767 & ATL - IAH for business, but my company has a mandatory cattle class booking for all transatlantic traffic. Having said that Delta are the best scheduled carrier that I've crossed the pond with.....

I don't find Economy spacing to be too cramped (& I'm not exactly built to a small scale) & the other guys I work with who have travelled the same EDI - / - IAH route on Continental via EWR have said that their Economy section is more cramped and you don't get the same level of service across the pond.

Conversely, it seems that CO have a marginally better standard of cabin service within the lower 48, but the planes are about equally laid out for internal services.

My only gripe about Delta, is that Delta in their infinite wisdom are canning the flight I normally use in a couple of weeks time, even although it's never a quiet flight. FYI they're dropping it in favour of a 757 EWR service, but it won't start until May, so until then we'll have to slum it across the pond on CO or get ripped off & transitting through LGW/LHR/AMS as well as having to travel at ridiculously early and late hours of the same day.......

In all seriousness, Delta do take a bit of stick - DELTA:- Don't Ever Leave The Airport, etc. but they are hard to beat, even when things do go wrong.

The seat layout is here (yes, really)... http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Ame...57-200_TWA.php

It's an all economy service, so the first class seats are up for grabs for (1) medallion members, (2) passengers on high fares, (3) those that ask nicely.

Are Delta flying 757s across the pond now? I thught they had plenty of 767s for all their transatlantic services not flown by a 777?

My mistake, just checked their web site and they sure do.

Does that mean that they no longer fly JFK-DUB-SNN-JFK or vice versa?

Unfortunately, Delta are in the process of changing some of their routes to free up some of their aircraft and make some longer range aircraft available for new routes. The upshot of this is that their 767's are being withdrawn and pretty much all of their tranatlantic services are going to 757's as of the end of this month. This also means that some services are being re-routed or in some cases discontinued and replaced with seasonal services.

My usual Delta flight was EDI-ATL on a 767 & ATL-IAH by MD88, this is now being discontinued as of the 23rd & if I want to get to Houston I'll need to go EDI-JFK (757), JFK-ATL (EVR) & ATL-IAH (MD88), but only from the 2nd May. No service between October and May, Reduced time between flights - more chance for lost/delayed luggage, less frequent service, longer transit times & fewer seats available. What a great move for a flight that was never quiet despite a complete lack of promotion.
