Heathrow - Luggage

I am flying out to Oman in Oct and, because BA have changed their Red Eye from Newcastle, I am having to overnight near Heathrow.
As I am BA all the way is it possible to check my bags through at Newcastle the previous evening or do I have to collect them and then recheck the baggage the next day?
Not interested in war stories about lost luggage thanks.

Hi,

If you are on one of the last flights of the day and the flight to Oman is relatively early in the morning you may be able to get the bags checked through.

I have flown down from on BA EDI the night before a longhaul flight and I have been asked if i want my bags checked through ( I prefer to collect them).

If you do this remember the hand baggage allowance for your overnight kit and the limit on liquids through security

Regards
