Luggage Weight Restrictions

Hi
I recently came back from Berlin and I wondered if anyone can help me. I can't understand as to why when I booked in at Liverpool Airport my bag weighed only 12.02 k and yet when I returned from Berlin my bag weighed in at 17.0k. The only thing different in my bag was THREE CD's and my Lightweight Jacket, and I am poss that these 4 items in total do NOT weigh 4K's. This is not the first route or Airport that this has happened. Do all the Airports only weigh their version of a Kilo,I presumed the weight at the airports wherever they are is supposed to be STANDARD ???

Duff scales?. Not that uncommon from Pax reports about being over the limit at the airport yet under when they weighed at home.

They should be! The scales at our airport are checked once a month by trading standards, and I would imagine that to be the case at all UK airports.
