Remote gates at CDG

Hi all,

I flew out to Philadelphia last month with Air France (and will be again next month) and during the transit in Paris, we were bussed out to a remote building between the northern runways and the main T2 complex, where boarding was taking place.

Now I know CDG is undergoing some building work and things are always hectic in the morning, but I wondered if it was any coincedence that from from this remote gate building, it appeared that AF were boarding/operating all their US-bound flights or is there something more to it?

Made no odds of course and the gate area had all the facilities that you would expect - I'm just nosey as to the thinking behind it? Was made all the more sweeter though as going through the gate, the agent said those magical words, "We have had to change your seat I'm afraid, but we have upgraded you..."...

Ta,
