North America internals

Flying from Vancouver to Miami seems to be impossible without 1 or 2 stops, sometimes with 4 hour layovers. I have searched AC, Delta and AA, all of which stop somewhere or other.

Is there really no way to fly from Vancouver to Miami direct, even at the end of August!?

Alaskan fly Seattle-Miami if it helps. A direct flight too with 737NG with the series -900 occasionly needing a top up of fuel on the wesbound leg back to Seattle. Long one all right.

in all honesty, the best way to go is either United via Chicago. only a 2 hour layover. The flights are the UA1118 connecting to the UA1374
or
Alaskan to Los Angeles on the AS278 connecting to the AA230 to Miami (codeshare AS1240). Its 739 to LA and 738 across. Connection of only 1hr 30 ish
Hope this helps.
Regards
Stu

55 minute layover in DFW
AA 2434 to MIA, arrives 1930 local, 45767-300

7 hours 35 minutes total
2875 miles

Wouldn't that be 7hr 45 min ?
Anyway it seems to have gotten a bit longer according to http://www.eskyguide.com/search/
8:45am Depart Vancouver BC CA (YVR)
Arrive Miami FL US (MIA) 7:45pm
American Airlines / American Airlines 282 / 2434
M83 / 763 Dallas/Ft Worth TX US
8h00m
but still the quickest.
This looks like an interesting way from A to B though:
10:20am Depart Vancouver BC CA (YVR)
Arrive Miami FL US (MIA) 11:00pm
Aero Mexico / Aero Mexico 9312 * / 428
744 / M87 Mexico City MX
W,Su
The 744 is actually a codeshare on JAL .

not to be pedantic, well, really I am. There is no "n" in Alaska Airlines. Check it out on www.alaskaair.com The southbound flight is a redeye, and the northbound flight leaves quite early in the morning.

You may also want to check Air Canada...they're sure to have flights to Toronto, with easy connections over to the left coast.
