Richard and Dick

Many years ago on the TV I saw a programme about two designers --Richard and Dick --who had designed a new aircraft seat.

Anyone know what happened to it ?

I recalled this in a conversation today about aircraft seats and how much effort Monarch must put into getting the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat on.

Don't know what happened to the seat. Probably too radical for the conservative airline industry. However, the designers are still at it. Check them out at www.seymourpowell.co.uk

I remember the seat. Clever design where the entire seat moved as one on a cradle allowing more leg room when required and far greater recline without impacting space of the others seats to any extent - rather like my daughters child seat as it happens. I suspect the airlines didnt want to blur the lines between those up front and them in the back.
