Emirates & SQ B777

hi, I'm a quite frequent flyer with SQ (mostly in their B777-300 fleet) then just a few weeks ago I flied Emirates also using the same B777-300.. I noticed that during take-off/landing/cruising the emirates plane was a lot smoother/quieter than SQ. Is it because they have different engines?

The original Boeing 777-200`s and B777-300`s in either airline have the same Rolls Royce Trent 800 engine.

You may have been fortunate enough that particular day to have flown in the new B777-300ER that has the GE90 engine. It is a bit quieter than the Rolls. Emirates have a hand full of those now.

Also, I`m only guessing but maybe the new aircraft are insulated better.

It also could just have been seat position in the aircraft!
