Congratulations, Schiphol!

After a year of parallel running, came through (outbound) Passport Control on my regular AMS-BRS-AMS round trip today and, hey presto, no scanners!

Just the ones prior to the gate now (in this case to the new H Pier).

Much more logical - one only hopes they've checked there isn't anything on sale in the huge selection of pre-departure shops that one isn't allowed through screening

Also like the H Pier easyJet boarding arrangements - no more "Would passengers holding cards 1-30..." and everyone scrambles for the line, regardless of number: now it's present yourselves in whatever order and then get told to stand in whichever of the four queues you should be in. Much better.

Only gripe is if they're going to insist one removes one's laptop from its bag for screening then they should at least ensure they have trays big enough to hold them!

Cheers,

Rich.
