Codes

Can someone please explain why, according to Teletext arrivals, some GB Airways fly with BA code and some with GT code. Also, Astraeus appears to use AEU for some flights and 5W for others. Your expertise appreciated. Thanks.

Normally charter flights have a 3 letter prefix, and scheduled flights have a 2 letter prefix. ie

Monarch airlines, ZB / MON
First Choice Airways, DP / FCA
Channel Express, LS / EXS
Ryanair, FR / RYR
Astraeus, 5W / AEU

But this does make me wonder why easyjet use EZY, when really they should be U2???
