If anyone is still taking notes about my visit. Hotel and flight booked - flying KLM from MAN via AMS to SVO for 2nd Jan to 6th Jan!
Also extremely impressed with the Russian Embassy in London
sent passport on Friday (14th Oct) and it returned with visa yesterday (19th Oct) - absolutely brilliant as I payed the cheapest amount!

pleased the consulate worked for you.....
I have decided to use Russian Visa Service, based in London, fed up waiting inthe food line in Kensington...costs a little but actually less than the return rail fairs to London...

For tourist visa - was no problems at all! did it all buy post and total cost for tourist visa was a £30 Postal order and 2 x special delivery envelopes at £4.17?? each

Just wondered if those russian winter coats were cheap-ish? weather seems to be cooling down at there!
All booked and sorted - just need to sort out transfer from hotel to airport on return, however shall sort that when I'm there!

be aware that many fake fur goods in Moscow...real is good value......
