Planning a holiday with family (HELP PLEASE!)

Hey guys, and girls
Me and my mum and dad will be travelling to Thailand and Singapore in January next year.

We want to go from Melbourne to Phuket, then Phuket to Bangkok, and then Bangkok to Singapore, and Singapore to Melbourne.

We will be spending 4 days in Phuket, 3 in Bangkok, and 5 in Singapore. The dates i want to leave on are the 9th Jan, leave Phuket 13th Jan, leave Bangkok 16th Jan, leave Singapore 21st Jan...

Now i have been looking at airfires, and there a quite a lot of options, i believe Thai air is the only airline so FAR, that goes direct from Melbourne to Phuket. This is where i need help, i would like to find the cheapest/best airline to do all these flights with. Im wondering if other airlines might take up the Melbourne to Phuket, route, or Melbourne > Sydney > Phuket. Basically i want the best price and airline possible, i dont mind stopovers, as long as it isnt ages.
I would really appreciate some help, some factors that come into my decisions will be airline safety, inflight entertainment (so far Qantas doesnt have tv screens for individuals on the singapore melbourne route, but Singapore air does) and other similiar facts.

January is high season for Phuket so you might not find the very cheapest fares for that time. Ideally you want to do the entire trip on one airline so I'd suggest starting with the Thai website and see what you can put together using their schedules.

As for entertainment, flights from HKT to BKK and then down to SIN are really very short so you wouldn't expect to have much (if any) for those routes.

Everyone always wants the "best price and airline possible" but inevitably one has to accept compromises somewhere.

Very true
How safe is the Melbourne to Phuket leg, on Thai airways Some guy told me that leg has the oldest IFE (nfi what that is) in the fleet and used since the 80's Then again since its a 747 atleast if some engines die there are always others

IFE = In Flight Entertainment and is the marketing term for an electronic film/music/blah that they provide for you. It may be in seat back screens or in flip down screens about your head.

If it is really important to you, email their customer service but don't hold your breath. That is not airline specific by the way! I can but agree that the price will be the mos timportnat thing as you can always take a Walkman type device with you and then you can be sure of what IFE you are going to get.
