Is South African Airways economy seating in the A340-300-600 comfortable for 6'1"?
Hi,
I'm looking at flying JFK - JNB and wish to know if SAA's A340-300/600 economy seating arrangements are comfortable for reasonably tall people. If anybody reading this has flown with SAA on this route would comment on the leg room it would be appreciated.
I'm 6'1" and flew in the back of a Cathay Pacific A340-300 from JFK - HKG - AKL return and was extremely uncomfortable the entire way despite the fact that I had a bulkhead seat on all sectors. There just wasn't enough leg room or elbow room.
I'm not taking a bank loan out to pay for a business/first class ticket.
Thanks,
cujo

But, in Cathay's defence I have to say that the flights were as smooth as glass and the landings so smooth they were almost unnoticable .....mint flight attendants too.
I flew on JAL from ORD - NRT - BKK return and the seats were larger and MUCH more comfortable. Great flights there and back and very comfortable.
