DA's logic on this subject has always been the same. Just pure logic. Anyone wanna pull it apart? The thinking on security was undertaken by some kind of think tank I suppose who obviously wouldn't know logic if it hit them in the mouth.
The arguments AGAINST their decisions are all the more stupid now that they have removed knitting needles, and other seriously "dangerous" items such as a knife fork and spoon, and yes bottles, swinging laptops (over the head and zap types!) nail clippers and a hundred other things mis-construed as remotely dangerous. The over zealous security bods I am certain made up their own rules as they went along - again making themselves look thouroughly stupid. Only doing their job you say? Cobblers is what I say!
It was ill thought out and by 'giving in' now, to the things we shook our heads about, demonstrates it admirably.
If only ONE of these senior security guys gave us a sensible view of all this instead of ramming crap down our throats it would, he would be welcome.
