Jumping

I'm interested on the latest regarding jumpseats. Have airlines begun to lighten up yet?

This is not an "I'm on this flight on that date can I have one please" or "What should I do if i want one"

Just interested.

It's not an airline issue, but regulation by bodies such as the FAA/CAA.

In other words, its illegal to let most categories of people into the flight deck during flight.

As F3G says but he speaks largely for the FAA and CAA alone. There are loopholes or deliberate holes in many other's legislation - IAA, French ?DGAC?, Australian etc. So jump seats are still available to some people on some carriers!
