Safety in Pakistan
Hi Guys
A friend has been offered a weeks work in pakistan. I should add she is female.
I have seen the FCO advise but she is keen to go.
How unsafe is it really? When they talk about secure private transport are we talking armed guards? I guess it will be in Karachi.
Cheers

I spend a week at a time quite regularly in Karachi, also Lahore and Islamabad.
Stay in a decent hotel, have dedicated transport and keep your head down.
great place to visit and a lot happening on the development side.

I have travelled in the North West Frontier, visited the Afghan border, stayed in Peshawar for several weeks, also stayed in Multan, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and have to say I have not been threatened, intimidated or hassled in anyway what so ever.
On the contary I have been treated with such wonderful hospitality and friendliness. Pakistani people will do their best to make you feel welcome.
I can safely say I would go anywhere in Pakistan as opposed to some areas of Birmingham
