No ticket office/knowledge at airport

I'm on a Star Business class RTW ticket. When booked KUL/SIN on TG was unavailable in D class (booking class for this particular fare) so booking/ticket was issued with M as booked class and C as fare basis. Subsequently D became available so reservation charged but ticket not revalidated. At KUL this morning TG insisted I had to travel in M class. For a two hour flight I was angered but they were adamant and I had to travel so what the hell.

The problem arose because the airport staff did not know how to read a ticket. They only looked at the booked class, not the fare paid. Aparentley TG do not have any ticketing staff at KUL. I am aware of one other airport where I believe this is the case for many carriers (AMM) but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had problems when turning up at an airport expecting to buy/change a ticket and not being able to.

I'll take TG to task back in London!
