night flights
just b4 take off in the dark why are we asked to pull the blinds down,then all the lights go out until the plane is banking cheers>

Dont know who you fly with but most airlines ask that you have the blind up!
This is so that your eyes adjust to the dark incase of an evacuation and also so that you can see if the engine was to catch fire.

well 2 late if u see fire just as the plane starts to move ,air2000 i flew with last year just at manc now theyve got a pc in t1 cafe .
going with fje never heard of them .

Blinds up and lighting dimmed for takeoff, so that the pax eyes are accustomed to outside lighting, if an evacuation is required.
Normally the lights are made brighter in the climb, when the captain releases the cabin crew to start getting the service ready.
