Traveling Injured

I broke my lower leg this week and am considering attempting travel for business. Top question is- will I have trouble renting a car with a cast on my lower right leg. (keep in mind this is in the US). Additional hints for air travel appreciated. Thanks for any input.

P.S. Taxicabs would be ideal except where I'm going is miles from nowhere.

Insurance

I think you will have trouble with insurance, if using you own, will that cover you to drive if you are wearing a cast on you brake / acclerator foot?

If using the car hire company insurance I would imagine you will need to get a waiver, which could take time.

Any chance you have insurance that covers this injury e.g. permenat health insurance etc. which could allow you to claim for a driver or the cost of cabs for this essential business travel?

Hope you are back on both feet soon.

Memetic.
