Le Pilot 25th Jul 2003 15:44

Does it matter which year you left AN??;)

FarQ2 25th Jul 2003 17:27

I think the 24th of August would be more appropriate. :} :E

Kaptin M 25th Jul 2003 18:13

Thanks for the invite, Mr. B......currently trying to do trip swaps to make it.
Almost 12 years with Ansett, so I guess that qualifies.

Hope to cya ALL there.

amos2 25th Jul 2003 19:04

Yeah!...25yrs with Ansett before I left in 89'

...looking forward to it!...should be a good reunion!

Spotlight 26th Jul 2003 00:07

And the theme for this party is 'people who should not be mentioned in polite company'.

Kaptin M

Thanks, and btw the om got quite a kick. For the record he reckoned you were one of the really, really (and after a pause, 'and I mean one of the best')
really good pilots to fly with.

Who's Amos?

Kaptin M 26th Jul 2003 07:41

Thanks for the re-intro, Spotlight - and the wrap...but it's not true unfortunately :{ Much appreciated after all this time.

Amos - well maybe we'll all find out on August 15.

TheNightOwl 26th Jul 2003 12:13

Assuming that "all AN" means those of us other than aircrew, I'll be there. I look forward to meeting Kaptin M again, we haven't met since his departure from AN, unlike amos2. I'll be happy to buy you both a beer!!!

Kind regards,

TheNightOwl. :ok:

amos2 26th Jul 2003 18:38

Oh Boy!..I can't believe you lot!

Do you really think I would attend an Ansett reunion?

In your dreams!!

Binoculars 26th Jul 2003 22:09

Truly and unutterably sad.

As soon as I saw the topic started, I thought, "here we go". And when I saw amos's name I couldn't help myself, I just had to un-ignore him for once to see whether he had a shred of human decency, though the odds were always long.

In their dreams, Amos? Yep, there are unemployed people everywhere just dying to meet you.

D&G has sadly become a farce, and I am now leaving it to the skygods. I tried to post only when I had at least some knowledge of the subject concerned, but I now bid the better posters farewell.

Feel free to abuse my attitude, I may even look in to read the abuse. But I've now made my last post on D&G (please don't cry) and it's almost a weight off my shoulders.

Carry on with the embarrassing Aussie defensiveness, people. I'll leave you to it.

sniffer dog 26th Jul 2003 22:53

Well Binoculars it is pretty sad to see an icon like AN go down, BUT don't forget those of us THAT saw the cliff coming, got of the bus and all THE GREEDY IDIOTS that got on it and took it over the cliff!

   :hmm:

Disco Stu 27th Jul 2003 17:20

I'm with you Bino's.

Talk about a red rag to a bull posting anything about Ansett. Seems to be quickest way to wake up the sleeping petulance and spite from a bunch of quitters (well resigners anyway).

Anyway I won't be able to attend, I'm too busy getting on with the rest of my life (like most sensible people)

Disco Stu;)

Dexter 28th Jul 2003 06:16

where is winstun these days??

watch out he might turn up to the reunion!!!!

now that would be funny wouldnt it? :O

Winstun 29th Jul 2003 14:50

watch out he might turn up to the reunion!!!!
......no chance :hmm: . I would rather pick my nose and watch my toenails grow. Frankly, it would be more stimulating. Than enduring a bunch of over the hill unemployed has beens, nauseating me with their trolling reminisance of a very (below)average past... Plus I would only present myself in Melbourne in winter for very good coin...By very good, I mean outta your league, uncle sam, tax free..:O
Now, if Virgin were havin a party, I would consider....(candy factor)... ;)

Mr. Boeing 30th Jul 2003 08:44

The reunion is open to ALL staff not just flight crew.

kym 30th Jul 2003 10:14

winstuns portrait------------->:8

so you can recognise him at the airport standing behind the fence dreaming he was a pilot.

B772 16th Aug 2003 18:18

Did anyone attend, was it a fizzer ?

fruitloop 16th Aug 2003 21:57

About a hundred when I left !!

Desert Digger 18th Aug 2003 10:05

Would the bloke or the sheila who turned up tell us what you talked about with the barpersonmanmaid?
