Aus ATPL to NZ ATPL.

I am looking to convert my Aus ATPL to a NZ ATPL.I have no idea what the process may involve.
Can anyone here help me ?

slice...Yes. An ASIAN Carrier wants me to have my NZ ATPL before I start training their pilots.I know not why?

And with an NZ ATPL you could use it to get one of those Pommie ones an you wont have to go through the hassle of redoing all the theory and IFR flying (or so im told?).

Australias still isnt? Are you 100% sure?

AUSTRALIA is definitely one of the 188 Contracting States.

I think you may be getting confused with what is and isn’t an ICAO recognized license. Australia’s flight crew licenses have always been ICAO recognized. It has just been the lay out of them that has been in question. Up until last year Australian flight crew licenses were in a credit card format, which didn’t comply with ICAO recommendations for laying out an ICAO flight crew license. They are now in a book format, which does comply with ICAO recommendations.

Oz medicals require extra stuff for ICAO.

There is some bumpf sent out about it with renewals.

eg ICAO requires over forties to do medicals every six months, if memory serves.

I was aware Oz was a "contracting state" but had discrepencies, such as Currawongs' mention of medicals (airspace another).

My reasoning was that for a licence to be valid, the appropriate medical must accompany it. In our case the basic Oz class 1 medical requires more, to be "standardised" with ICAO medical reqs... and as such the "whole licence" wasn't ICAO complient.

Also, my comments hang over from many different forms of licence, had here in Oz over the years. 404 puts that one straight.
