Interestingly,just read another topic and noted that most of us have been called a 'white cu*t' at some point through our Charter Pilot days. exmexican had his first experience in Leonora, I had mine in Darwin enroute to Derby.

This question is for all the Charter Pilots past and present who have operated in the Outback and Northern parts of Dunnunda.

Where did you first get called a 'white c*nt' and any other experiences with racism?

Must have been around 'The Alice' at some stage. Think the correct wording was "puckin' white cu*t", just after I said I didn't have a spare smoke.

'Hey Whitey, got a dollar/smoke' seemed to be more popular at the time. Makes me wonder what they would've said if I called them 'Blackie' ? I'm sure they would have screamed discrimination.

Daydreaming outside the chemist in Derby. Become aware I am staring into space in the general direction of a mob. One comes toward me cussing ALL sorts of niceties and threatening me. I just told him what I was doing, waiting for the woman etc, I don't know what happened next but he actually apologized, called me boss and asked if I could forgive him?!?!:eek:

In hindsight, I should have asked him for a smoke, God knows I could have used one :D

Ahhhh, the first time. Would have been at primary school in NQ. At work in GA, probably Darwin, coulda been Alice. Of course only us white c**ts are racist, just ask the do gooders and pollies!

Happened at grade one in school, after that, about twice a day on average in every town in the west quite a few in NSW four times in QLD, recent visit to the terra tory managed about two a day for three weeks............... and not once in tassy ;) I hate being a racist, it gets me all worn out minding my own business and somehow mentally provoking all these white c...t attacks.
I have given up on trying to explain to all these city folk and overseas folk about how it really is out here, all that happens is I get called a racist and end up trying to defend myself against all these do gooders that just dont know........ so I just admit it now, Yup I am a racist.

If ya want a laugh, watch two black fullas fighting, and count how many times they call each other black C...t. Then just to prove a point, do the same with a pair of white blokes. It will astound you!!!!!!, Fair dinkum.

Would have been within a week of starting work in Halls Creek WA. The funny thing was that he then went onto say to us (me and two other blokes in the company) that we "Are only up here for the money. U white c*nts are just taking money from us blackfellas".

The approach of many voices of "the minority less fortunate" has never failed to leave me agast.

First time..... Kununurra '98 ..... when I got in the way of one male person beating the hell outta his wife with the buckle end of his belt and laying into her with work boots .... never again.... I just call the police now, if she dies because I didnt render aquequate assistance, well that will have to be the problem of the police, the soft headed law courts and the legal system.

The general public bear the brunt of a self inflicted outcry of alcohol and substance abuse. Down south we used the americanism "trailer trash" or "gutter trash". Here its other names best not discussed in a public forum usually instigated by the so called victim.

During work hours, I find bribery in a fashion works well... usually in the following format..

"You want me to help, sure I will give you all the help you need, but you going to do two things for me.... do you understand.."

"Yes Sister, Im sorry"

"I dont want to be sorry, I didnt derserve that in the first place. You will be still, you will do what you are told, or you get out of my ambulance now, and I call the police"

"Yes Sister"

While all the above sounds very subserviant in a manner of speaking, unless my life is in danger, I would never throw any one out of my truck... and believe me if anyone has an excuse to have a racially tainted opinion, I would have to come close.

I deal with swearing, name calling, violent people every day who earn more per week than I could dream of, in some cases are less than hygenic in the loosest possible terms, rip the relos off blind, calling in medical intervention when that family member is about to die or already dead. The reason..... they are now going to miss out on the pension and carers cheque!

The kids growing up are no different... these are fourth, fifth sixth generation wefare dependants, already alchohol dependant, changing the name of "culture" as they see fit. For once a proud race, fiercely protective of family and kin, now think mass riots, payback (often leathal), child and spousal abuse is acceptable and has manipulated the current thinking to anyone objecting is a racist white *%#t. Tit for tat practice is the bane of my current existance.

For anyone who watches the ABC Australian Story.....there was a very interesting program some weeks ago on the FNQ people having to help them selves.... a realieving ideal if I ever saw one... maybe there is hope after all.

Its a funny old game this racism.
The dogooders and the ones complaining are shielded in their upper class leafy suburb in the city.
For those of us who live in the north ,well we have experience and see things.
I get on ok with them,give them a ride ,hand over a smoke when they want one,but theres quite a lot that spoil it for the others.Must admit was a bit peeved when one pinched my car and wrote it off.
Was refered to as a white "c" once when driving out of bottle shop in Broome with a guy half in car and half out trying to bot money off me.

The true old aboriginal seem to be ok,buts its the younger generation who know where there bread is buttered that are the stirers.
To me racism is a load of crap anyway----colour ,nationality etc.
Just wondering when they will stop us calling one another a two headed tasmaining ******,etc ,seppos ,bloody poms etc
