Two Kina Meri ?
Struth Kagamuga! Are they still only Two Kina?:ooh: Hasn't inflation upped the price yet?

Not that I'd know anything about that sort of Lady though..:=:}

Capt Fathom 18th Dec 2020 09:36

I think someone has the drug running pilots mixed up.
This thread is about PNG.

The more recent event you refer to is the Aerostar at Redcliffe.

The slight drift in thread was in response to "lucille's" tag...

Time stands still at the Aero Club.

Like the speed of light, two Kina is a constant in every equation at POM. The only variable would be the number of SP stubbies consumed.

Duck Pilot 19th Dec 2020 06:56

The good old days of throwing down a few SP handles at the dero club, having a sleep then getting into a Bandit at 4am delivering newspapers to Lae, Hagen and Goroka. Single pilot IFR with no autopilot.

I got busted in Cairns by a CASA PNG AWI loading a steam roller engine into the Bandit! AWI was a good mate, hence I got on with the job done.

mendi63 19th Dec 2020 19:36

It's amazing what used to be carried in that particular Bandit.

PNG AIC has apparently issued an interim report into the accident. Wingtip apparently torn off as a result of clipping a tree on landing, I assume it was the outer fibreglass section which is reasonably large on a C model 402.

Aborted take off due to lik lik ROC! Obviously old mate knew he was probably going to die or get seriously injured if he continued with the take off.

olderairhead 10th Jan 2021 21:52

Full report.

Rumours abound, that the RAAF C130 that flew to Port Moresby yesterday, 14th Jan, from down south was on the ground POM for a very short time then departed to Darwin. Loose chat in POM say the druggie pilot was being transferred to the Howard Springs facility for CV19 quarantine prior to a Court appearance etc.

Duck Pilot 15th Jan 2021 08:28

I highly doubt the rumour is true, to many SP beers last night at the Car Club?

Mumbai Merlin 15th Jan 2021 11:19

DP, always a possibility :}

Your rumour may be right. What sane person would want to serve a prison term in PNG? Odds are that many beans are being spilled in exchange for a deportation and subsequent trial in Oz with probably a very light sentence of time already served.

Probably even end up as the resident C402 endorsement training specialist. 🤣

Duck Pilot 16th Jan 2021 18:50

If correct, it would be a slap on the face for the other Australians who need to pay thousands of dollars to get back home to Australia, also doubt he would need to pay the $2500 quarantine bill.

Let him rot at Bomana.

packapoo 16th Jan 2021 20:00

That's all he's good for.

Duck Pilot 18th Jan 2021 09:09

It would be fair to assume that you didn’t get a Christmas card from old mate.....

geeup 18th Jan 2021 21:19

The National reported on Monday that Cutmore has been charged in PNG and due to face court (in POM) on Thursday.

Aust pilot admits offences - The National

Cutmore pleads guilty to Aviation offences.

Two further cases in two weeks regarding the drugs etc

lucille 5th Feb 2021 18:35

Wheels of justice move curiously.
Being sentenced for not having correct aircraft documents and for operating an aircraft “carelessly”? At one time or other in our careers, more than a few of us could stand accused of similar, albeit in entirely different circumstances and context.

Interesting that they bother pursuing the relatively trivial when there are far, far more serious charges waiting.
