If you have even a shred of hope that Trump will do anything he has promised you are living in la-la land.
I would have thought with a population of 320 odd million people that the Americans would have come up with two decent politicians but they failed abysmally. Hillary was no alternative to this buffoon. Let's see ...... wall separating Mexico and restoration of the middle and working class of America to financial solvency are but two of his promises. Rebuilding American manufacturing is another. Let's hope the deluded among you have the fortitude to come back to this thread in four years time, recall your words and see if any of the rhetoric from this multi times bankrupt tycoon has come to pass. My guess is that if you do return you will be eating your words. Why not bring John Howard back? |
Why not bring John Howard back?
Ok Bob, would you propose someone better for the job,, ??? !!! |
Paul Keating

Peterc looks like a refreshing candidate. What could possibly go wrong?

Come on folks, real imagination is required, not dredging up dinosaurs from the past. Your man Johnny is still convinced Saddam had WMDs and our involvement in Middle East wars was a good idea.
When you good people continually elect millionaires, all you can expect is policy that favours and expands the wealth of the 1% at the expense of ordinary Australians. You want my real imagination from me because you lack any? All it would do is start a political argument on an aviation forum and lead to thread lock. Have a good night dreaming of your man Don who would no doubt get on well with your other mate John. If you think Trumpets words are new and inspiring why don't you go back 8 years to the "Hope and Change" campaign his predecessor sprouted. I think you will find "hope" was the demise of middle class America and change was related to Bruce Jenners sex op and normalising of the abnormal. |
I understand your points Bob. Vote for me in the next election. I will run with a slogan "MAKE CASA GREAT AGAIN." I will replace CASR, CAO, CAR and CAAP with U.S FAR and NZ CAR.
My promise to aviation constituents: 1) No more IPCs as long as you performed 6 instrument approaches in the preceding 6 months. 2) Reduce flight test fees to $400 with mandatory lunch paid by ATOs if a candidate passes his/her flight test 3) No more landing fees 4) Change ATC phrase "decimal" to "point" 5) Set up a national flying school in CBR to keep the horrendous flight schools fees down 6) No more $100~$150 fee per written exam. You can attempt all or parts of CPL or ATPL written tests at once by paying once. |
Oh come on Bob! I asked you for your recommendation as for to whom to vote in any future election.
Not your observations/opinions on what was done in the past!:= And purely for the helluva it; lee_apromise; Well put! :ok: Seriously, I would not argue against any of that! Especially the ATO paying for lunch!!:E:D:ok: Once had a very liquid lunch many moons ago with a (then) DCA Examiner of Airmen but we won't discuss that here....(hic):E |
Careful what you wish for. We'll almost certainly see our own Donald Trump in the not too distant future. Now he's in there, I hope Trump does well. I'll be amazed if he actually manages to pull off a full term, though.
|
4) Change ATC phrase "decimal" to "point" |
lee apromise and 601, :D
Quote: 4) Change ATC phrase "decimal" to "point" Yes please! But isn't it usually pronounced: "Daysimal"? 126 point 7 please. |
Aussie Bob, How have you formed your opinion of the Donald?
Have a read of the interview below, might perhaps shift your stance a bit. https://www.rt.com/news/366371-pilge...nton-liberals/ |
My nominations for next PM.
No idea of policy's but they all present well, speak well and no mater how many times they sell their assets, they still own them. Also would get great trade deals with USA over next term. Elle Macpherson Jennifer Hawkins Delta Goodrem |
Aussie Bob, How have you formed your opinion of the Donald? Oh come on Bob! I asked you for your recommendation as for to whom to vote in any future election What I would like to see is politicians held accountable for their promises. I would like to see them voted out of office or dismissed instantly for intentionally lying. If a politician stands for re-election, his history of previous promises and the delivery or lack thereof should be a fundamental part of any subsequent election campaign. If this was brought in we would get rid of most currently in office and may well get a better quality of person. Getting rid of massive political donations would be another step in right direction. Having self funded folk like Clive buying their way in is another thing that should be stopped. Sadly most voters have a short memory and even worse actually expect politicians to lie. I register my disgust by no longer voting. I want someone who is truthful and honest and actually represents the average Australian. Until then I am happy for you to make the choice. Then I have someone to blame for who we get  The last thing I want is to see old politicians from the past recycled. Sure, Johnny had some likeable aspects but he was no better than what we have today and frankly we deserve better that what we have currently. The interesting thing about Donald is that people are waking up to the old ways and voting out establishment politicians. Whether this is good or not time will tell and we shall see. Edit: Prospector thanks for the link, I am a bit of a Pilger fan. |
If I said Pauline I am sure you would scream What I would like to see is politicians held accountable for their promises. The interesting thing about Donald is that people are waking up to the old ways and voting out establishment politicians. Whether this is good or not time will tell and we shall see. This has merely ensured a Parliament stacked with time servers, idealogues and people whose only interest is themselves and the eventual attaining of the obscenely generous Parliamentary pension and assorted perks!:yuk::}:ugh: Cynical? Who.....me???? |
As above! However; I loathe Johnny in one respect, in that he sold out licenced and law abiding Firearms owners, deliberately vilifying some of them purely for the purpose of 'looking decisive.' Not that I am into guns any more but I was once. I will stick my neck out and say that it is a good thing! For far too long now we have had a political class, a breed of politicians who have the belief that only they know what is good for the 'great unwashed.' |
Pinky - Please explain how responsible firearms owners are vilified today, purely because one politician had the guts to cut down on the huge number of unnecessary firearms within Australia - and who, through that legislation to ban automatic and assault firearms, actually managed to give us 20 years without a mass slaughter by a crazed firearm owner. Incidentally, the homicide rate from tighter control of firearms reduced by 60% in the same period.
Spoken by a veteran with more than a passing familiarity with military firearms, and who has been, in the past, a responsible firearm owner, having owned multiple firearms at the one time. As regards the Donald - it amazes me that so many downtrodden working class Americans were prepared to vote in a billionaire President, who has made a lifetime career out of ripping people off. He is erratic, a BS-artist of the highest order, a narcissist, his stated policies are unworkable - and he possesses no vision, other than one where he is at the centre of the Universe, and is worshipped like a God. He basically craves worship and adulation, and the office of President is his dream come true. Unfortunately, he's totally unaware of the massive responsibilities that come with that office. One thing I can promise, is that American working class people will be no better off at the end of the Donalds first term, than they are right now. The problem simply is one of crushing debt - monstrous Govt debt, and huge levels of personal debt, that neither the U.S. Govt, nor individual Americans, will ever be able to get on top of. The Donalds plans to launch massive infrastructure projects and restore the steel and coal industries to what they were previously, are merely dreams that will collapse in the face of reality. Those reality questions will be along the lines of, "where are you going to get the money? - and how exactly do you plan to repay it?". If The Donald prints money without asset backing (as I fully expect him to do), then that will only lead to a short-term feeling of wealth for working class Americans - followed by a bout of inflation that will destroy any wealth they thought they had gained. |
Aussie Bob for PM............!
|
Pinky- grow up mate, the 50's are over, ya can't go back, regardless of the appeal of those halcyon days. Or just emigrate to UNZUD, they're getting close to the 70's by now, but a calmer gentler culture to be sure. Don't judge kiwis by the ones over here. (Orr moi gawd I sound like Trumpy-poo I do)
Onetrack - I don't always agree with what I see from you, but I reckon you're close to the money this time. I like to find something nice to say if I haven't been having too many mind improvers. The Donald is a problem, not a solution, and I think this will become apparent in the coming months and years if he lasts that long. He won't drain the swamp, he will dive into it and wallow in the mud like all the other dinosaur park promoters. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HD |
Borrow him ? you can keep the crazy bastard
