Pilatus Sponsorship

Noticed on another website that Pilatus are sponsoring Todd Kelly at the Clipsal 500.

Mr Kelly must be upgrading from his trusty Chieftain.

Squawk7700 26th Feb 2015 01:01

He already has upgraded... to a PC12.

Chieftain Panther for sale

Stationair8 2nd Mar 2015 21:40

Should have gone with a Beechcraft product!

Aerodynamisist 3rd Mar 2015 05:45

It's been for sale for some time now, looks like the price has come down recently.

Pilatus is sucking up to Australia at the moment, pc9's are getting on a bit and the Rfds are getting the pc24, does anyone know how many ?

BPA 3rd Mar 2015 08:09

Kelly Racing could switch to racing Honda's and Todd could get a Honda Jet.

gerry111 3rd Mar 2015 08:46

Aerodynamisist,

From what I've read: 3 PC-24's for Western Operations plus one to be based in Adelaide and another at Alice Springs.

Still a bit pricy though at $410k.

Had a conversation with the Pilatus salesmen at the airshow, who told me "the PC12 is 'safer' than your Kingair 350". Yeh mate, I'll remember that next time I'm on the way to Lord Howe, or Tassie! ;)

Struth Howard! I would have burst out laughing if I'd heard that.:D

Howard Hughes 5th Mar 2015 03:46

Nearly used the classic line "surely you can't be serious"!! ;)

Obviously he has never actually flown in a Kingair...:ok:

Captain Nomad 5th Mar 2015 03:54

Your second engine takes you to the scene of the crash faster...! :E

DynaBolt 5th Mar 2015 04:15

Surely you can't be serious!!!!! Captain Nomad .....in a 350.....

Dynabolt

Howard Hughes 5th Mar 2015 04:17

Bwahahahahahahaha, there's another one! :E

If single engine is so good, why does the PC-24 have two engines? ;)

Mish A 5th Mar 2015 04:31

"If single engine is so good, why does the PC-24 have two engines?"

Because an engine pod on just one side of the aircraft will make it harder to keep in balance :D

Captain Nomad 5th Mar 2015 04:42

Does this

:E
look serious?!

Tankengine 5th Mar 2015 04:58

An old Airline Captain was asked about his ideal aircraft:
"One where the Flight Engineer says there is an issue with the number four engine and then I ask "which wing?"":E
