How often pay the airlines the costs of trainings?
 

Hello everyone!

I'm doing my PPL, so I'm quite far from being a commercial pilot at an airline, but it's good to have a future plan. :)

I would like to ask that how often finance the airlines the training? For example I have my CPL, IR, and ME, and I want to fly at an airline that operates King Airs, so I also need ME-IR, MCC, and King Air type rating. Will they pay it for me? Because I think it's quite expensive to finance it from your own pocket.

Is it my imagination or do all these recent postings from newbies sound a little contrived?

To answer your quite reasonable question. No, not very many airlines these days pay for initial type ratings. Also, at King Air level they are not really 'airlines' . Also, in this part of the world, operators at that level sometimes won't even pay for instrument rating renewals. I can't speak for European King Air operators.

You need to look at either your own country's military or for a cadet scheme attached to a real airline.
