Very nice, I've always wanted to have a go in one of those. None in NZ sadly!

SWTT, very much like what the nine pack is bolted too. Familiar looking V-tail spotted lurking on the other side of the windshield.

That V-35 sure gets around a fair bit. I saw it on King Island during Australia Day this year. :D

StickWithTheTruth 15th Feb 2018 10:34

Speaking of King Island, there was a very schmick RV14 down there from YRED a couple of weeks back. I'm guessing only one of perhaps a couple flying in Aus.

Yes, I saw that beautiful one there and had a short chat with the builder/pilot. It is the first RV14 that I've seen so far. It has the marvellous personalised rego: VH-XIV. :)

Clinton McKenzie 16th Feb 2018 09:06

I regret not having had a closer look at Alan Carlisle’s RV14 while at YKII. Too busy BF’ing CFK, GIII!

My RV10 kit will hopefully be on its way .... soon.

StickWithTheTruth 16th Feb 2018 10:43

3 x PPRuNers in YKII in the one week... a busy place!

Getting a little quiet in here? Anyway here are a few happy snaps from Evans Head in early Jan. Always a good outing and this year the wx played the game too.

Helicopters fly because they are so ugly the Earth repels them.......

We all know what this is and many would know where... but HOW did this happen?

Blueyonda 26th Mar 2018 20:51

SWTT
I’m guessing it was a wind gust from a thunderstorm or rotor wash?

Squawk7700 30th Apr 2018 13:18

Re Above... gust of wind prior to the arrival of a front.

How's this for a whack on the noggin..?

My friend George Cannon used to fly for Sepik Airways. He has passed away now. He had similar photos in PNG when they were shifting around amazing loads from dredges to cars and trucks, stuffed into the back of those Fokkers. Thanks for sharing.

Mammatus clouds are pouch-like cloud structures. They're also a rare example of clouds in sinking air-- most clouds form in rising air. Although mammatus most frequently form on the underside of a cumulonimbus, they can develop underneath cirrocumulus, altostratus, altocumulus and stratocumulus.

And, according to BOM, while they might look pretty dramatic and often appear around the same time as severe storms, mammatus clouds themselves are perfectly harmless.
Yeh right.

GRAND PRIX

Some good vision from the Hornet doing its stuff over the Grand Prix circuit. I was impressed with how the go pro hung on.
The C17 appeared pretty low over the crowd.

A couple of virtual vomits here with some of that negative G! :{

Squawk7700 19th Mar 2019 11:27

Our thankless Pilots and Paramedics going about their jobs in all hours in all weather. Barely a night would go past where you open up your EFB and not see them trundling across the sky.

I remember that. Changes to engine shut down procedures followed.
