Yes, saw that as well! Looks like a Great Lakes. But the average joe off the street probably wouldn't care!

many thanks

I thought the vertical stab was different, as well as the landing gear, but the swept top wing had me thinking this was a modified Tiger Moth...

Is that the Ag Cat that Ken ??? operated joy rides from Coolangatta in the 1980s and 1990s? I seem to recal that Ag Cat had a Jacobs 775 engine and featured in The Phantom movie.

In retrospect, maybe not. I think the Coolangatta Ag Cat was much older and ended up on floats on the Broadwater?

Wasn't the Coolie AgCat one of CropCair's old machines...VH- CCsomething?

Here's an AgCat which has not only been converted to a 2-seat version (by removal of the hopper and installing a seat) but also has been given sea boots. Or, how to mnake an ugly aeroplane even uglier......... Anyway, Roger McDonald caught it at Surfers Paradise, Qld in Dcember 1992.
VH-CCK was first registered to Cropcair Aviation of Archerfield in February 1965. It later went to Grasslands Aviation in Albury, NSW and then to other operators. In 1983 it was modified for banner towing, then joyriding with an enlarged front cockpit and later fitted with floats for scenic flights . It is currently registered to Red Baron Downunder Pty Ltd.of Queensland's Gold Coast.

That is the thing. There used to be two, both red and operating from Coolangatta.

They (or one) were used in filming The Phantom movie in Far North Queensland 1995 - 1996. About 1:10 into this video clip:

:ok:Yep, thats them! When we was kids running around Redcliffe aerodrome, the local ag pilot driving CCF was always tempted to give us a flit in the hopper seat but he was worried about the stuff he used to spray and what his boss would say if the boss found out that he was giving jollies to non-employees.:E Always hoped he would get brave and give us a trip. All it was was a hammock seat dangling in a huge hopper.

Lovely, loud machines. CCF was a Pratt R1340 with a HUUUUUUGEEEE single exhaust that you could hear all the way over at Scarborough on a quiet morning. They were famous too, got a spot in the "Flying Australians" Doco.
