The problem I see with the electronic logbook is will you be able to access it in 5, 10 or 20 years time when the computer hardware AND software is going to be so different.
I bought my first mac in 1993 or 4. I can still run the apps I used then on my macbook.

Backward compatibility with macs has been outstanding.

Hi All,

It's been a few years since this thread was active. Wondering what the general consensus was these days for electronic logbooks.
Are most airline pilots using them? If so, which is the best one to get?

I'm aware of CASA's requirements regarding binding of logbooks. What's the best option for getting this done?

Paras 61.345 and 61.365 seem to indicate to me that electronic logbooks as the sole means of logbook are now permitted - the proviso being that if CASA requires you to produce your logbook, you must do so in printed format. Is that how others read it? This sounds good to me!
