ME endorsement requirements

How can a CPL holder give an endorsement on an ME aircraft under 5700 if that person does not have an instructor rating

Hi Biz.

Youre in this for a profit... why don't you ring CASA or ask your Chief Pilot?

I'll give you a clue... CAR 5.(something)

I would be embarassed to be asking advice on PPRuNe about how to run my business, and if I was your Chief Pilot I would be bloody furious. By asking these questions on PPRuNe you are infering your CP is incompetent. :=

Pretty sure its only with special approval from CASA. Not 100% sure tho.

You need one of three things from my hazy memory.

FIR with META working under a flying school AOC

Approved check and training organization with a company checkie approved by CASA

Freelance ATO with META

Horatio Leafblower. get off your soap box superman. I dont believe i said anything about doing it under a commercial operation

Fonz121 thanks thats what i thought it was but was not sure

A type endorsement is considered a private operation, so a flight instructor with META can carry out an endorsement without the need to work under a flight training AOC. You will then need a delegate to sign the paperwork and enter the qualification into logbook.

The other method (Car 5.????) is definitely a CASA issued qualification. Now a very common qualification to hold.
