Hi @ll,
so what is the chance of getting a solid & serious information package on J* NZ please?
cheers!
mine mine mine mine :}

On a brighter note, 250 jobs in NZ would stimulate the industry pretty well and create some pretty fantastic opps.

Sand dune Sam 21st Jan 2009 21:13

OK, perhaps I should rephrase what I meant. What I meant was, it seems Australian companies start up operations in NZ because they know that NZ'ers will work for less...less than what Australians do presently in their own country..are we all happy now?:{:{:{

Fruet Mich 21st Jan 2009 22:59

I'm gonna have to agree with our Aussie brothers and sisters on this one, all apart from the sheep shagging. By the way there's no bloody sheep left over here! You beggers have got em all.

We're all to keen to to climb over each other to get that first jet job. Then when we get there, we all complain about how much our buddies across the ditch are getting paid compared to us poor wee kuwus.

Time we grew some balls and tell these operators coming over here to Nuw Zulund looking for cheep labour to get stuffed. What'll happen then? They'll have to either put Aussies in to do the job until us kuwus agree to fly their machines for the money that most other airlines are paying their respective professional pilots.

We're our own worst enemy. So we should shut up, stop complaining or like I said do something about it. I'm picking that won't happen because we're all to eager to get that first jet job.

I am interested to find out the pay scales. Could be quite humorous.

Peace ANZACS

Mr. Hat 21st Jan 2009 23:15

Fruet, is the cost of living cheaper there in NZ? And what about other professions? Do they pay the same or less than Australia? It does seem that there is a steep difference..up to 25% less for Pac Blue..

mcgrath50 22nd Jan 2009 00:18

And come to that why don't all the top NZ drivers come over to Oz to earn the higher money working in an environment that dosen't sound like a primary school yard (just a high school one ;))

Sand dune Sam 22nd Jan 2009 01:44

Agreed fruet...the rest of you delicate little Kiwi flowers are just too sensitive arent you?

Jetconnect - Qantas D scale
Jetstar NZ - Jetstar B scale
Pac Blue - Virgin B scale

If you guys in NZ are determined to work for less to secure your elusive jet job then have the spine to not whinge and complain about what Australians get paid...a good start for you people might be to stop voting through ridiculous EBA's and collective agreements undercutting your mates at Jetstar, QF and Virgin, those Australian companies that are giving you Kiwis a job.:ok:

Whos whinging? Its not the Kiwis, FFS

:ugh:

who_cares 22nd Jan 2009 04:55

Wasn't it the guys at VB that under cut the guys at QF, then the guys at JQ that under cut those at VB.

So its not only a kiwi thing.

waren9 22nd Jan 2009 04:59

Australians doing it for/to [delete however you see it] themselves.

:ok:

okay then 22nd Jan 2009 06:37

NZ s full of hard done by, under worked, inexperienced toss pots. Just read the Air NSN thread. At least in OZ the guys have done a bit of decent GA time before they become toss pots.

Alot of useless bickering here.

people turning down a job is unrealistic in todays climate, the way to equal pay is strong union membership and industrial action if needed. your always gonna win cause all your asking for is what everyone else gets.

when your working for the airline then youve got them by the balls if everyone sticks together

Just a freindly reminder to all you guys and girls who are posting here and work for Jetstar or VB.
Each and every one of you have dropped your shorts and PAID MONEY for a job!!! I say again, PAID MONEY!!
Then you go out on line and earn considerably less than QF!
Seems to me we might want to be looking in our own back yards before flinging mud accross the ditch.

toolish 22nd Jan 2009 20:42

JBE,

Each and everyone of you have PAID MONEY, not me:ok: except airfares to the interview, I guess I have paid.

I believe that people in J* aust won't be referring to J*nz employees in the same way QF refer to porn star employees because no good can come from that attitude

We know the problem is with management not our soon to be colleagues.

johnny blue eyes 23rd Jan 2009 01:18

Yep, fair call Toolish.
To say everyone had paid was stupid on my part.
But a great many have paid and to talk about Kiwis working for less when a large portion of those people have nearly broken a pelvis trying to get thru the front door of an airline and cut them a check, is just wrong. I know this arguement is an ancient one, but to my mind paying for endorsements has been the sickening of aviation! NZer's being paid less is the least of our worries

snoop doggy dog 23rd Jan 2009 05:12

I'm confused :bored:

I thought there are just as many Aussie pilots flying big shiney jets around in NZ, as there are Kiwis?

Maybe I'm wrong.

I can remember working for a small airline in Oz a few years back, and a lot of the guys there were doing whatever they could to get a job with VirginBlue back then. Oh no! They were all Aussies! :ugh:

In general, Pilots do not stick together, and it's usually the ones pointing the bone at every one else that take the lesser paying jobs first. :E

A lot of the posts here are just rants. :=

Mr. Hat 23rd Jan 2009 11:30
