Skyair World Turbo Props
I recently passed throu Honiara and read in the local paper the Solomon Star New that Sky Air World have been issued an AOC in the Solomons and will start to operated Turbo Props...
Anyone know what type they intend on running and to what ports? |
I Heard a SAAB 340 at the PCYC the other night.
|
SAAB 340 is correct :ok:
Myth CONFIRMED! J:ok: |
I heard it was Cessna Caravans... wait and see I guess.
|
I heard they are currently interviewing for E145 and E170/190 Captains and F/O's. Get your applications in!
[EMAIL="[email protected]"] :ok: |
Jabawocky,
So looks like they are only planing trips to Munda????......if myth is confirmed, |
Who knows.......... SAW may do anything with them. My conversation with the SAW fellow went from.... if REX cant get drivers how will SAW...... then we moved onto other more important topics, so I can not expand further.
Thats 3 weeks ago now, a lot changes in 3 hours, let alone 3 weeks:uhoh: J:ok: |
Well, I know someone who just got a job with SAW driving Emb 145's. He is going to the states to receive training in a few weeks.
Looks like onwards and upwards. |
Numbers on the BNE-HIR route are still very low, with many flights carrying less than 20. That route cannot support 3 operators, something has to give.
|
SAW needs a passenger friendly schedule because the current departure from BNE is 6am,check in 4am and unless you are within 15min from the airport then your wake-up call can be around 03:15.....If you had a
choice between a 6am or a 9:30 departure(ie Solomon Airlines........no pun intened)then 9:30 will get the majority of pax. SAW has not thought through their schedule properly they need to compete in every way possible with IE. |

".... if REX cant get drivers how will SAW......" Simple. From REX! Provided they pay them enough. |
All times are GMT. The time now is 16:50. |
