Cessna 206/210 Info
Gents does anyone have any basic info for the 206/210?
Stuff like: MTOW BEW Fuel Capacity Fuel Burn TAS Etc etc And before everyone jumps on me, yes i realise every aircraft is different and there are many variables I am looking for just a basic guide please. Thanks to all who answer and PM if you would prefer. Cheers:ok: |

I think we could safely sya that you are talking about C210 and Dave is talking about the C206
Our 1983 U206G lists MTOW of 1633kg and fuel capacity (useable) of 335. Block fuel 60/hour Block speed 125 :bored: You would be unlucky to find an old Cessna in Australia with standard tanks. |
Ah yes, i probably should have mentioned that my figures were for a 206.

I have flown the slowest C210 in Oz, ie 150 kts TAS at 75% power (won't mention the call sign) and today I may well have flown the fastest C210 in Oz (IO550 powered). Only did one BIG circuit in it for a test flight - but it was indicating 160 kts at 1000' on 2600/22". Tomorrow I am taking it for a serious running in flight - will be interesting to see just how quick it really is. It certainly takes some slowing down. I thought the V-tail was quick - but this thing is seriously fast!
I will pull the book and post the real figures in here tomorrow night, but as a rough guide I have generally flightplanned as follows: MTOW - TBA BEW - TBA Fuel Capacity - 5+ hrs Fuel Burn - 60 L/hr TAS - 160 to 165 kts depending on the age etc of the aeroplane Dr :8 |

As I recall:
I think i flew the slowest C206 in the country TAS = 110 kts Most of the C210's i have flown TAS = 140 - 150 kts (have not flown in cold conditions) Fuel Burn = 55 - 65 L/hr Fuel Tanks = See flight manual (Around 336L) BEW = 950kg?? C206, 1050 - 1150kg?? C210 (from memory - some had been slightly bent) MTOW = 1636kg C206, 1724kg C210 |
Forkie, nice looking 210 on page 2 of the latest Aviation Trader. Time to hang up the FTDK and step up into the world of a serious cross country machine? :}
Chuck some GAMI's on that baby and you can tas 150kts on 48l/hr, or at least a friend who owns one can and that is only with an IO520! :E Cheers Mr B |

There are many different C210 models. Ours used to cruise at 165 knots.

Slowest 210
FTDK, if my 210 did 150 knots I would be abolutely stoked!!! The old bitch ive got is lucky to get over 135-140 knots on a good day!! I think it basically just turns petrol into noise :E

Just out of curiousity, anyone flown a 210 with the TSIO550 up front? 0.4 hrs yesterday and 2.3 hrs today 1980 C210N with zero time IO-550-L and Hartzell 82" scimitar prop Trying to run this thing in at 70-75% power is a challenge. It is seriously quick. Makes me kinda nervous cruising 165 IAS - 5 kts into the yellow arc. 4500', 18oC, 1013, IAS 165 kts, TAS 177 kts, 68 L/hr (but that is 100oC rich of peak EGT - which is what the run-in procedure calls for). That's 67% max HP. Climbs like the Space Shuttle - 120 kts, 1500'/min at sea level, down to 1000'/min at 6000'. The new "office"! http://www.fototime.com/229B2B90AF86CBA/standard.jpg Dr :8 |
Yeah 165kts is fair hiking. I imagine with the TSIO-550 a 210 would be seriously quick up at 12000 feet or so then.

Used to fly an '82 n/a 210N a number of years ago and with a light load it would tas at 171kts. The IO-550 powered 210 (also an '82 model) I've flown more recently would wind out to 178kts with an average load. With just the pilot and a bit of fuel sloshing around in the bottom of the tanks, 181ktas was the number. Who needs a Cirrus?
