Refer CASA registration search - No Dornier aircraft currently on the register.

And I doubt anyone would be silly enough to operate a Dornier 228! :E

Thanks Woomera

I just thought there were Dorniers here in Oz as I saw an ad in the afap website a few weeks ago mentioning of an upgrade to a dornier.

Thanks anyway

The 'gos' is that there is one in Japan that may soon be based in NQ.

The CASA website shows a Do228-201 VH-UJD registered to G.A.M. on May 27th.

No idea if it's related or not.

Pearl about to perhaps?:hmm:

howdy lads - I am specifically looking for the DO 228-212 with a
-10 engines or a -5 at least that are for lease. Anyone who has info on this model I would appreciate it if you can PM to me.

If I can get this, I might be able to give some work to low-time CPLs to advance their careers. Just want to do something good for the newbies and wannabes if they are willing to go overseas for some over-water ops.

Don't ask me for the specifics yet. It's still in the drawing board.

Thanks

Looks like there are two for sale in Taiwan and one for sale in the Philippines. And there was a number rusting away peacefully in India.

We had a bunch in svce in Unzud..

..for about 3 months! They were doing East Coast runs outa Napier as an Ansett NZ feeder if memory serves correct. Amazing field performance but...:ooh:

VMO248,
You have a good memory or you're showing your age!

JetA_ok

Did they say why they didn't make any profit from it ?

What regional airline is this ?

by the way I am not in anyway related to GAM operators.....just want to clarify that.

troppo 31st May 2005 23:26

Ahh PNG...once had a very nice flight from Nadzab to Hagen in one of these beasties.

Jet A_OK, presuming that we are talking of the same operator, I thought that the major problem was the leases were in USD and the ar$e fell out of the kina? OzExpat...you're input?

I mean prior to them getting rid of them, hadn't they been successfully operating them for some years?

Does InterIsland Air in US Samoa still operate them?

Vmo248 1st Jun 2005 21:29

But what's it for?

This is what they're gr8 for!

Or from another perspective :ok: :ok:

Or this!!!

DeltaSix 2nd Jun 2005 09:56

Nice shots from airliners.net Vmo248

That's exactly what I've had in mind........... short field ops

Do228 is capable of STOL.

The one from US Samoa I believe have crashed. They were only operating one of them.

The Taiwan planes are over-priced, so we are looking at the one from the Philippines but I am still looking for another one.
