I hope it’s not as bad as that Australian series a few years back “Big Sky” on channel 10 I think. That was an embarrassment to the GA industry.

Red face

Was it? I always thought it was a highly accurate & objective portrayal of the intimate aspects of the GA community & their struggle to gain respect from the commercial aviation sector.....NOT!!!

Buster

They're shockers aren't they? I've seen enough episodes of Airport and Airline to see them at their worst.

Some of them just shouldn't be allowed past Bournemouth!

Most Aussies faced with delays etc just head to the pub & don't worry about it.

From the adds , I've seen more ass and underwear (thankfully female ) than aircraft!.

Speaking of real life airline programs. I happened to see an episode of a show dealing with Easy Jet. On it was a Perth propeller head name Luke ?????? Who had flown all the way to London so he could fly with Easy around the UK and to Spain, just for the experience. Talk about keen.

Now Luke, you wouldn't happen to be on PPRuNe??

Conversation chez Bino tonight after Law and Order;

Binos; can you put it on channel 7, love?

Binoette1: what's on?

Me: Not sure, something about an airline I read about on Pprune.

Her: An airline?

Me: Yeah, I don't even know whether it's a real airline or fictionalised.

Her: (increduous) Mile High? Have you seen the ads for it?

Me: No?

As we were discussing this up on the screen came the warning about sexual references, nudity etc.

Her: It's Temptation Island in the cockpit.

Me: Oh. (pause)... what's Temptation Island?

Her: (rolling eyes) Tits and ass, Dad!

Me: Oh. *sigh* Click. Off to Pprune chat then.

Just watched it. It's the worst piece of crap soap opera I have ever seen in my life. Absolutely nothing like my flying experience in 33 years and we had some pretty wild cabin and tech crew.

Not being in D&G I missed it but can say that if it gets a thumbs down from The Reverend then it has nothing at all to do with any of the following subjects:

One holers
Two holers
Three holers
Four holers
Rollers
Pollers
and
F/E's

and of course overnights in Seoul, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka...and Manila.

In which case it must be a load of rubbish.

I have to agree with you........having said that, your description of the show will probably mean that it will do quite well.

Quite apart from being a load of rubbish, it's also done a disservice to the airline industry - every smoker now thinks he/she knows how to defeat the smoke detectors in the lav!

Those lav smoke detectors couldn't detect the smoke from a Canberra bushfire!

The only worse combination than GH & Big Sky would be a mutation of Skyways meets Holiday Island....aaaarrrrhhhh!

On the subject of Skyways, did anyone else notice that the only aircraft ATCO Ken James ever spoke to was the ubiquitous "Echo Papa Whiskey"?

He should never have been allowed out of Waratah Park, hey Skip!!!

Yeah its a pretty sad show isn't it? I'm generally a big fan of the old T&A but in this case it was pretty poor. I suppose some T&A is better than none though....

I like the oversized cockpits and some of the call outs.

Wink

I don't know dude. If you half close one eye and change the paint scheme to RED/BLUE.com.au, I see a "local" carrier well represented. (or was my copy of FHM mistaken???)

Except of course for the "old" cabin manager and the pilots wearing a pilot uniform!!!!!!!!
