why do pilots bitch so much about each other ??

How many times have I hear "aviation is full of arseholes"?
I hear it adnausium and quite frankly I am sick of hear it!!

A very wise man once said"be carefull how you judge others as it is a reflection of what you see in your self".
So when you bitch about one of your fellow pilots you are showing everyone what you really are

If you were all to STOP back stabbing each other may be you will have a better time in aviation yourself.

If you were flying for an airline would you still stabb each other in the back?
I hope not! there is no room for that behavior in a multi crew cockpit
Alot of you out there do not Know what multi crew means or what team work means or sticking together means.
It does not mean bad mouthing you work mates or telling every one how bad your work mate is.
That is probably why some of you are still in GA and not in the airlines.
Yes I have seen arseholes in aviation but the good thing is that all three of them were in the some place (nth of brisbane)
what other industries have you lot worked in ?
Ever worked in retail or the motor industry? now they are two industries full of arseholes!
My advice to alot of you is:
Concentrate on your own flying not that of others and you will become a good aviator.
STOP BACKSTABBING and you will get on in aviation.
Stick together and back each other up and some of this expliotation that happens will stop!

Thats my 2 cents for the day, any comment out there?

Thumbs down Knife throwing

In my limited experience in the aviation industry I have discovered one thing. Back stabbing is done by those who are not capable of progressing on merit alone. The casualties are sometimes good drivers that actually love what they do but threaten some less intelligent and usually emotionally unbalanced individuals.
Karma has a way of balancing the results but patience is required.

POTO

Well said !

Yours would have to be the most accurate comment I have read on PPRUNE.

It is all the wannabe's who haven't got the talent to progress, that sit here in their cosy little "club" and backstab those who are achievers.

What goes around comes around !!!!!

I tend to agree with the "Professional courtesy" theory.......

Why ????

Because it isn't just the wannabe's that Piss, moan, whinge and Backstab others. It happens right through to the top of the food chain.

I think it is more likely to be the end product of an industry that is over crowded with decent, capable people who in turn are desperate to succeed and get something that resembles a decent career......

Some people will do absolutely anything to beat the next bloke and succeed, no matter how big a C#%t they have to be.....

Desperate People do Desperate things

I also agree with the theory that some people are A*rse holes before they even begin.

I agree with your comments entirely.

slice , it is no arsehole in particular, it is just the way some pilots talk about each other.

Like Hatchet said, competition is so high in our field people will do anything to get in front. But what I find, is the people that shut up and get on with their job eventually get in front.

Aviation, still beats working in an office.

Troopy I hope you are right, but it does not seem this will happen most of the time.

Poto hit the nail on the head with his synopsis being the most accurate thing I have heard also on P-prune.

Patience is very hard to find when you try and do the right thing by people and they continue to try and screw you behind your back.

However, it is these guys that if they do make it to the multi-crew op stage, they will find it very difficult to move through the ranks as old habits die hard.

The worst thing about GA is the two faced people within it by a country mile, it puts a real dampener on the amazing sights we get to see and the variety of flying we will not get to enjoy as we progress.

In my experience, it seems to stem from boredom or insecurities.

And of course the typical:

'If there isn't a rumour by lunchtime we'll make one up!'

When i was starting in this industry a wise old man in Cabouture gave me three pieces of advice:

1. Talk to everyone you can

2. Remember thier names

3. NEVER say anything bad about anyone, it's a small industry and it will come back to you!

And having followed that advice i'm sitting in a cushy office in Tassie in my 1st flying job.

There does come a point where sitting on the fence all the time will annoy people though.

You have to have some sort of an opinion. Can you trust someone that has no enemies? Does it mean that they do not stand up for what they believe in....?

Hang on I don't think I've got any en....

One should also remember the old axiom.......

'Those who s**t upon others shall one fine day also be s**t on and from a greater height and of a greater quantity'

You only live twice. Once when
you're born. Once when
you've looked death in the face.

"Why do Pilots bitch so much about each other?"

Simple, it called Jealousy. Just remember the best Pilot is the one who has the most fun, so start having fun and stop bitching .

Hope that helps, hoss

Hey guys I won't be bitchin anymore because I've just been accepted with Virgin Blue.

Thanks to all the girls out there who gave me encouragement in the tough times over the last year and a half in commercial aviation.

Thanks to Robin H****, Delinda at Airnorth and the Australian Association of Female Pilots.

Thanks to everyone

It's all ugly

You know, men bitching, it sounds kinda pansyish to me. It's something only gay men do.
Men, i thought, don't have time for jelousy and envy.
In my eyes, it is the most ugliest trait, along with mega egos.

Like it has been said, jelousy stems from envy and envy stems from insecurities. Think, and wish for others as you would wish for yourself...purity is beautiful.
