In '75 and '76 the watering holes were the Bird of Parasite and the Goroka Sports Club. I don't think the Goroka Aero Club had been invented then. So, it was probably the same chair that migrated to the Aero Club.
Yup, Phil had a blue Fiat but it was a small two door sports job, not an 850 Bambino. Last I saw it it was owned by the Radio Tech, F.B.

Boy this is gettin seriously OT..lol ! the Goroka Dero down near the tower?? I had a beer down that way in '83 but pretty sure it wasnt there in '76 youre right Torres was only the Sporty and the Bird and for the REAL MEN the ZokZok.
Anyways the said stool.
That neither me nor Phil.Torres you'd recognise the Birds till seeing as you put most of your pay in it!
The Bird '76 ahhh lunch on the roof..followed by a stroll through the town and a perv on the birds

Knulp. Yup, as a JP (in PNG and XXXXland), I hereby certify the stool to be "Phil's Stool" and the bar to be the Front Bar at the Bird of Paradise Hotel, right opposite my office. Indeed, the photo is taken from outside Bull Sh_t Castle (Talair Head Office) in Goroka, possibly from right outside the Talco Tours Office?
Face rings a bell, but can't pick it. I note the footwear is standard Talair issue!
And yes, that is the Bird around the time Bobby Gibbes sold out. The manager at that time would have been The Ghost Who Walks. (??? Walker, last seen at the Kieta Pub, now deceased).
And the girls - definately from Goroka. Can't tell you their names but am sure the MD of Talair (God rest his soul) would have known them. Personally! ("Susu mau" to quote Junior.) From the background, looks like either the Goroka markets or Goroka Show?
The Zokozoi - you must be joking! That was a snake pit. The Goroka Hotel was the usual drinking alternate, until it got burnt down and the smart drinkers moved to the Aero Club.
