SOUTHWEST Airlines has sacked two pilots who reportedly took off all or part of their clothes in the cockpit while in flight, then summoned a flight attendant to bring them paper towels and soda water.
"We conducted a thorough investigation and terminated the two pilots involved for inappropriate conduct," Southwest Airlines spokeswoman Ginger Hardage said today.
The pilots may appeal. They argued that one of them removed his uniform after spilling coffee, and that the flight attendant saw them when she complied with their request to bring paper towels to the cockpit.
It was unclear why the second pilot was believed to have removed his clothes.
The men were not named.
They were dismissed earlier this month, but the incident, first reported in today's editions of USA Today, happened months ago.

Its believed that some of the guys in Broome have a top of descent challenges that involves gettin all ya gear off at tod and then on again before overhead destination on frieght runs. Problem with shrinkage if cold lvels though.

Nothing worse than the sweat-soaked shirt after loading 400kg of freight into the trusty C206 in the Wet season, and nothing better than getting it off as you backtracked the runway just waiting for the air from those vents as soon as you get airborne. Aaaaah, breeze on bare skin, gotta love it. Those were the days.....

Like a mate of mine who shall remain nameless, flew his last bank-run down the east coast in a Metro nude.
He was going well up until a female student was skillfully guided up to the cockpit.
Wouldn't have been so bad, but had an epaulette over his member!!!

There is nothing wrong with nude flying. The TOD challenge, the King Sound Challenge and of course how much total time do you have. One of my mates has 100hrs nude. Giddy Up would have a few hours i'm sure.

I am aware that certain pilots may have tried such things, but I can not find the column in my log book... Does QF require a minimum for these??
And who gets to check you out for the rating??
Giddy ups pax are most likely the worst/best offenders for nude hours but I dount they do it for future job prospects. : )

Does Nude in the Cabin Count?
Having finished a week's helicopter gunship training at Evans Head range, we decided to give the Range Safety Officer a flypast on departure. Monty the crewman is wearing a two-piece flying suit and is restrained by a Monkey Belt around his waist, with a 6-ft tail that attaches to a hard point.
Monty is able to get all the gear off, and is standing naked on the skids, monkey belt and nothing else, bare @ss cheeks fluttering in the breeze as we give the RSO a 120 knot browneye.
The RSO thanks us heartily, and we hear a gasp from Monty as he climbs back in to find the tail of his monkey belt was lying unattached on the floor.
I could just imagine the newspaper headline "Naked crewman falls from helicopter." A little hard to explain.

I know of an ex kimberley pilot that will in the middle of a party or nightclub get his gear down, I only know of one occasion from memory that he didn't when he should.
