NZ ATPL Nav

I intended to self study ATPL Nav, but the the CAA / ASL study guide shows only Planning manual and IFG as references - tits on a bull for the exam and hardly related to the sylabus. Is it possible to self study or is PPCS the only option?. Has anyone found a way around this shambles? Is the Aussie ATPL Nav an option and is it accepted in lieu? Couldn't find an answer to that in AC 61.

There is a guy in AKL who teaches ATPL nav. One weekend to learn all that is required for the exam and the next weekend tying up the lose ends and doing sample papers.

Bout $270 but saves you having to sift through the PPSC manual.

Jack, if you want the guy in Aucklands name and contact details email me. He is a very good instructor and cuts thru the BS. You will save alot of time and frustration if you get him to tutor you. Or if he is running a course, go to that, but take a little 'extra' for beer money

Unfortunatly the Auzzie ATPL exams do not carry any credit over here.

The guy in AA, is well worth the few $ to get thru. He has been instructing Nav for over 6 years and has a very high pass rate. However, you will need approx. 3wks prior to get upto speed on beer drinking skills as this is a mandatory part of the course.

Enjoy and Goodluck.
