fish Book Review

Almost finished reading an interesting book by Tom Bower titled BRANSON, published by FOURTH ESTATE.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the back Cover;

"Richard Branson is Britain's favourite businessman, a brand in himself. But is he a buccaneering balloonist or a single-minded profiteer? Here, in Tom Bower's sensational biography, is the full story of the Virgin man: his friendships, his ambitions, his drug taking, law-breaking and steam-rolling tactics. Not the life of a glittering saint, the sourge of corporate goliaths, this is a tale of greed, ambition and ruthless self-creation. For the man who wanted to run the lottery is, up close, something of a lottery himself"

"What I have read, has offended me on every single level... It is a foul, foul piece of work from the first words to the last - really rotten, nasty stuff."
Richard Branson.

In my opinion a very interesting read

Given Bransons remarks, sounds like a "must read" to me, sounds like some of our local heroes too ..

Well if the ever do float the virgin blue, I think this would be a valuable insight for anyone considering purchasing shares.

How is the float idea going anyhow? I figure only around 20 % is available to the market, would the institutions actually touch such a small offer?

Todays Herald Sun again raises the prospect of a future float.

Raises two points from this book;

1. Would they really want full public disclosure of the company books, that would be interesting.

2. If they havn't had some free press for a little while, you can be sure some banal issue will be raised to get in the paper. Another eg flying to Sol. Is. Not likely to happen but gets you in the paper for free.
