instructor rating schools
G'day guys,
I am looking at doing an instructor rating in the near future, but don't know really which flying school I should do it at, which schools produce a good quality product?
cheers
DW.

There are dozens of Flying Schools out in GA land prepared to take your money and give you a G3 Instructor rating.
Sure you need to ask around to pick a good one but more importantly you need to get work with that rating when you have acquired it.
The question you should be asking is can the school that you get your rating with give you work, enough work to warrent getting the rating with them, or is it a case of 'Next please' to be on the next course and instantly forget the guy who has just finished the last course.
IMHO there are more unemployed Grade 3 Flying Instructors in the system than there are potential jobs, and even those jobs that are around do not have sufficient work to justify an instructor working for that school.
Remember, you do not have a paid salaried position as a flying instructor, you are just a casual instructor there to be paid for any training that you do. You can be hanging around for a long time to get even some casual work.

CJ,
I am not wanting to do the instructor rating looking for work after, it is simply for career advancement within a regional/major RPT company down the track, so getting back to the original Q what is a good quality flight instructor school.

Hey downwind, PM me or ring me on the number below, I also want to get a IR for the same reason. I have my own plane and have spoken to some schools who are very keen to start providing I have a partner for the mutual. They say that we can save heaps by doing it that way..... Or anyone else who is interested.

Depending on where you want to travel to, The Royal Aero Club of WA does an excellent instructors course which will set you back around $8000 although their courses are often booked out well in advance

Did some investigations a while back and were impressed with the mob in Bendigo. (No I don't work for them)
They rekon all their past instructor have jobs and instead of doing mutual with another candidate.. you do the mutual hours with a grade one instructor and they charge you thr solo rate.
I thought it better value for money than some.
Cheers
