Iraq : Roll on effect or what?

We constantly hear of potential downturns forecast by the major airlines as the threat of war looms, but I'm just wondering whether there is likely to be a roll on effect in the GA industry if the majors were to suffer. Would some people opt for the increased sercurity of private charter? Or would the likely rises in fuel send us all under?

Just curious to here what the general feeling was rather than playing doom and gloom. I was doing my ppl during the first Gulf war and don't really remember how the industry was effected.
