Fair Go, Beyond a Joke...
I may be wrong but I have been right so far...
It is working... whoever you are you are victorious I am cranky.
MY OFFICE WAS BROKEN INTO very subtly whilst I was away, must admit it WAS never very secure never saw the need. Did not notice anything missing until today, I can't work it out you may be able to help. Time to re key the hangar and put a pet croc in at night.
WHY would anyone take an old log book???
Yes that is all that is missing on the surface.
You may think i'm paranoid but it lives in the same spot, it has for years, the new log book gets taken out for entries (& not very often) but the old one stays there. Bit like the glue in the bike lock, done so that I wouldn't notice either way.
That is history that is STOLEN things like my sons first flight with me is in there you pr*ck.
I don't give a damn who likes me or hates me I ask you to find out who has the light fingers and to get my logbook back.
I DON'T GIVE A **** WHO TOOK IT, GET IT BACK & I FORGET ABOUT IT. REWARD OFFERED.
p.s. if it turns up in the mean time I will be the first to admit my paranoia...

Why would you think it's a PPRuNer?
High Alt,
if you have some ideas on who may have done it, hopefully you've conveyed that to the authorities.
In both this and the bike incident, how do you know it was perpetrated by disgruntled employees? (From this and the previous thread, you are implying this).
Before you flame me, I described to you on that thread how you might fix your bike and listed threads on where you might find cheaper parts.
I've come out after work a couple of times to find my bike on its side. I could blame it on a malicious act by a colleague (doubt it very much as I believe the culture in my Company is not like that). I reckon it was done by some opportunistic scumbag walking through the public carpark p!ssed off because I had something they did not.
Think about it...............

Wasnt me!!!!!!!.......I would have knocked off the little fridge in the corner.....If you had of gotten around to putting Burbon in it.
I think your security really needs looking into mate, its proving to be a requirment from your latest reports and my little excursion into your hangar a few months back.

Unfortunately High Altitude in life there are some people that are so low they could get under a Black Snake with a Top Hat on.
What goes around comes around! I hope for your sake they get their just desserts. Maybe, just maybe they might understand how people feel when they have something taken away from them that means a lot. Then again they are usually as thick as two house bricks.
I hope they have the heart to return the log book.

while flying with an unmentioned company at YSBK, i had 2 good DC headsets stolen, a GPS stolen, and my Logbook!!!!! for some messed up reason, all gone in the period of about 3 months, changed company, nothing has been touched since.
luckily i keep all my reciepts and flights logged on a baclkup logbook that looks more like a pile of rags than a book.

Sometimes I look through my old logbooks and wonder what the people I flew with are doing now. Some I am still in contact with, others not. One or two have passed on.
There's a lot of good memories tied up there.
Stealing a logbook is like stealing somebody's photo album.
Very bad Karma, man..........

Its bloody terrible to do this.
To the person involved ,hand it back please, if their is any nice bone left in your body.
Afterwards, I suggest you throw yourself off a bridge, as we dont need people like you in our society.

Ultralights,
Wasn't a charter company with a log book altering person there with the initials of MK?
Had turbine as well as piston twins in the hangar.
He was the apparent tubine fleet manager of the company.

Not much help now I am sorry but.
I keep several copies of my log books.
1 Normal copy. However they are a touch out of date. Only a couple of yrs.
2 Command Log Book on my computer.
3 a print out of the computer records and a back up disk of the computer records.
The original log books are like has been said, a personal diary/photo album. The computer version is great for searching hours on type, IF hours all those sort of things and the printed copy is good when you turn up at an interview, nice and neat.
I didn't start keeping a computer record until a couple of yrs back and it took a while to enter, I think around 11,000 hrs but was definitely worth it.
If you have a record of your past flying in any fashion I would get some one in the office to start entering them tomorrow.
I hope they turn up.
Good Luck

I also keep my logbook up to date on my computer. I do regular backups and transfer all backed-up data to two other computers that I own. Now, if only I could find the time to update the REAL logbook...

It is only a matter of time.

gottom2dollar,
If your so shamed to be a pilot then what the hell are you doing here, perhaps your money could have been better spent heh?
In my experience I found the vast majority of pilots to be most helpful and have a genuine passion for their chosen craft.

Thank you to the majority of replies and to the pvt messages recieved.
I just wish that everyone else had the maturity to deal with things the way you do.
Unfortunatley CIB could not help to much. However their opinions were rather interesting and their advice even better.
Once again guys and gals, forget its me that lost my log book and just pretend it was you, help me find it, as I said I offer a reward.
People talk they always do, have a think about it and what it would mean to you.
HA.
p.s. I'm glad elephants don't fly as your right it could get mighty messy...
