New MAF C208B Caravan inbound to Cairns

Currently between Tarawa and Honiara is new C208B Grand Caravan registered to MAF International as N97PN.

Not sure if this machine is for Aussie Ops where MAF has been operating PNG registered Caravan for a few months around the Gove area etc. May even make it to PNG or Indonesia.

Biggest bucket of never ending cash I have ever seen, the loot just keeps flowing!

It was often known as the secret MAFia money chest.

Anyone’s guess as to where the loot starts, likely somewhere in the USA.

They also often spend significantly in modifications once the new equipment arrives into its new million dollar donated hangar.

And I believe they are registered in Oz as a “charity”.! In reality they are a global ‘charter’ company with seemingly unlimited resources. And from my own experience, they are a bit short on Christian ethics and fair dealing.
MAF..Mothers And Fcuckers.

MAF have their main maintenance base and HO in Mareeba where aircraft for this region often get mods for whatever they need where they're deployed (mud flaps, extra cargo restraints, HF radios, etc.). Perhaps that's where it's headed?

They've been operating both Caravans and Airvans out of Gove for decades now, ferrying people and supplies to remote communities and homesteads around Arnhem Land - especially in the wet season when the roads get cut - so that should be no surprise.

Maybe you should join up? Might be fun.

Apparently they’re a not for profit airline. Just like Alliance.

A quick Google search indicates that as an "Item 1 DGR Recipient" (one of many, I suppose) they get a GST Concession, Income Tax Exemption and an FBT Exemption : https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View/27654417544

Make of that what you will..

Old mate at Oenpelli MAF base many years was a top bloke, but head office gave him a posting to PNG and he knocked it back for family reasons. He quickly found himself moved on from the warm embrace of the MAF organisation and God.

The MAF Gove god lovers in that era, were a very strange breed and ruthless in undercutting on charter work.

Always used to love hearing their calls like 200nm out in an Airvan, I remember a few of us replying with our positions reference to Melbourne up there

Few operators getting additional aircraft in PNG, and I believe there’s more to come and I’m not talking about PX.

"...they get a GST Concession, Income Tax Exemption and an FBT Exemption.."
Every ABN holder gets a GST Concession, regardless of whether they are a charity, not for profit or a commercial entity. That is what the BAS Report is for. Only the final consumer pays the GST.
Income Tax Exemption - Not for Profit or Charity.
FBT Exemption is available for certain industries - Health industry is one.

A not for profit can be required to pay tax on income not derived from it's core charitable pursuit.
